AvanSkin® Clean Feet

A preventive treatment that controls fungal, bacterial and viral growth preventing feet smell, skin scaling and cracking, athlete’s foot, and other conditions. .

The Importance of Clean Feet

  • Superficial fungal, bacterial and viral infections are commonly seen in the internal areas of the toes and the borders of the feet.
  • Their overgrowth deal to bad smell (stinky feet) and can easily turn into athlete’s foot.
  • Chronic infections will crack the skin between the toes, thicken the borders of the feet that look white and scaly, and eventually contaminate the toenail creating an infection known as onicomycosis.

Causes for Overgrowth of Micro-organisms

  • Poor hygiene, quick showers with lack of attention to washing, rinsing and drying the feet, especially the spaces in between the toes.
  • Poor disinfection of showers and bathtubs; microorganisms love moist, warm, dark spaces.
  • Use of closed shoes, especially sealed, impermeable varieties that maintain extra moisture and warmth.
  • Use of sandals or other open shoes that expose the feet to dirt and other environmental risks
  • Visits to public showers (gyms, hotels, etc), public beaches, etc.

Uncontrolled Infection

  • Fungal overgrowth weakens the defense mechanisms and the condition aggravates by secondary infection created by opportunistic bacteria that creates more damage and worsens the smell of the infected feet.
  • 15% of the US adult population overpasses the subclinical infection and evolves into athlete’s foot, jock itch or other complications that can be prevented easily.
  • Even though ringworm is not a direct complication of the fungal infection of the feet, it responds very well to AvanSkin® Clean Feet.

Risk Factors

  • Adolescent and adult males have the greater chance to get it
  • Large toenails, occlusive shoes, nylons in any gender
  • Use of gyms, locker rooms, swimming pool, carpet, spas, beach, and other public facilities
  • Cultural use of both closed impermeable shoes or open non-protective sandals

Facts About Athletes Foot

  • Very contagious from one person to another
  • Possible transmission through clothes, towels, rugs, and other common objects
  • Easily spreads into one’s environment traveling through dead skin cells that fall off the body
  • Some fungus can be contagious to pets, creating a cycle of reinfection
  • In the US, 15 to 25% of people are likely to have some degree of athlete’s foot at any given time
  • Bad smell is the most common symptom, thickened, scaly skin is the second one
  • Redness, scaling, fissures and itching aggravate the condition as infection progresses
  • People with good hygiene habits still can have a sub-clinical infection with minimum or no symptoms
  • They can be free of smell, but checking their shoes or their shoe closet is possible to get the distinctive smell of fungus

Prevention's of Athletes Foot

  • There are many products with old-fashioned formulas containing talc; those products should be avoided to prevent health issues associated with talc
  • The use of AvanSkin™ Clean Feet spray between the toes, on and around the toenails, soles, heels and their borders once a day, ensures the cleanest, smell-free feet
